Our values
Independence is very important to us. We have no performance targets or quotas from suppliers that we have to meet. When you contact us for a trip, your request ends up directly with our staff in Tanzania. We do not purchase services from third party suppliers. We bypass part of the value chain so that we can offer you a fair price and our guides a fair wage. You benefit from our flexibility, our direct know-how and our competitive prices.
Transparency is a matter of course for us. Nevertheless, there are travel agencies that only give the total amount - it is not apparent for what you pay how much! In addition, it is often not disclosed through which partners or suppliers a trip is purchased. With us, you have full insight into your travel costs - after all it is your trip! We also contact each accommodation directly and maintain personal relationships with our tour operators.
Tourism plays an important role in many African countries. This makes it all the more important that travel is organized responsibly. Numerous local organizations are committed to protecting habitats to ensure that the increasing volume of travel does not have a negative impact on nature and wildlife. We support selected local projects and maintain direct partnerships in order to make our trips as sustainable and responsible as possible.

Our Story
Remy
"What do you want with this car!" Gilliard smiled at me uncomprehendingly. He knew that you don't get far with it in Tanzania - and yet it was recommended to me by a European travel agency! Of course he was right, because already one day before our car got stuck in the swamp. Gilliard then called one of his guides and saved our trip. The story made me think - why do travel agencies sell what they don't know? I wanted to change that: together with Gilliard's help, we founded Tanzania Travelers. We now operate under the name “Tru Safari”. Our aim is to facilitate high-quality and honest trips not only in Tanzania, but throughout Africa.

Manuela
Being told about a safari is one thing, but experiencing a safari first hand is the ultimate African experience! The vast landscape, the left nature and the closeness of the animals in their free wild has overwhelmed me especially in Tanzania. My biggest motivation for Tru Safari is not only to pass on this fascination, but also to make it tangible.

Bringing people closer to my home country is the most beautiful thing in the world for me. I have been coordinating trips in Tanzania for over ten years and am still thrilled every time I go on safari myself. I love my work and am happy about every new visit from all over the world!

Naomy
I was born and raised in the rich wildlife ecosystem of Masai Mara, where living alongside nature was part of daily life. My journey in tourism began in school, where I was an active member of the scouts—a time that sparked my curiosity for nature, leadership, and guiding others through the outdoors. That passion has since blossomed into a fulfilling career as a professional tour guide across East Africa. Today, I take pride in showcasing the breathtaking landscapes, wildlife, and cultures of Kenya and beyond, always striving to offer meaningful, authentic experiences. For me, tourism is not just a job — it’s a calling to share, protect, and celebrate the treasures of my homeland.

Shadrack
I’m proudly from Kenya, and my heart lies in the conservation of our incredible wildlife and the protection of East Africa’s rich natural heritage. Growing up surrounded by the beauty of Kenya’s landscapes instilled in me a lifelong love for nature. I’ve also explored Uganda’s breathtaking national parks, from the gorilla-filled forests of Bwindi to the scenic plains of Queen Elizabeth National Park. For me, Kenya and Uganda are not just destinations—they are living, breathing ecosystems that deserve our care and respect. I’m dedicated to sharing this love with others, inspiring awareness, and promoting responsible travel that supports conservation and local communities.
